Boulogne to Quimper - route and accomm?

Can anyone suggest the best route from Boulogne to Quimper, leaving Boulogne area on Sunday morning?   Also a recommendation of a very easy to find overnight stop for the Saturday night would be great.  We will have a 5-6 hour drive to Dover so want to stay over on Sat night and have a leisurely drive down on Sunday.   It will be the first Speedferries  trip for us as BF are just too pricey now.

Here's a route from ViaMichelin, 6hrs 37mins.  I've put the distances in miles, fuel costs at 1.20€ per litre (95 unleaded in a supermarket) but you can change that on the ViaMichelin site if it's a concern.  I find the ViaMichelin timings are usually pessimistic and beat them by about 10% on average without breaking any speed limits.

Boulogne to Quimper

Boulogne - Le Havre - Caen - Avranches - Dinan - St Brieuc - Quimper.

You just jump on the auto-route after leaving Boulogne - easy enough to find (marked Amiens) - and keep straight on. If you don't fancy le Pont de Normandie, take Tankerville.  When you get to Caen and come off the autoroute, go either way on the peripheric, makes no difference.  Marked Rennes for the exit.

There is a pretty route, of course, but it is very, very long.

Boulogne - Avranches is about four and a half hours with a stop.

I normally stay at this side, living here, but we did stop at a B&B in Dover.  Talk about dead, Dover!  Bandit territory.
