Gardian
I've just read that the doubling of Air Passenger Duty announced by GB the other day and effective from 1st February will be levied retrospectively, that is to say on bookings already made for travel post Feb.Unless the airline lobby can make the Treasury think again, that's going to cause havoc at the airports, because check-in staff won't be able to accept payment. Everybody who has already booked is going to have to toddle off to a sales counter to pay over their fiver - that is unless the airline is able to write some software pdq to allow you to pay it in advance online.Happy days!
