Hoddy
Has changed its name again. Originally known as East Midlands Airport, the name was changed about thee years ago to Nottingham East Midlands Airport. This caused lots of local comment because Derby and Leicester had also invested heavily in it.I understand that the pilot's announcement that they were about to land at "Nottingham East Midlands' was frequently greeted with jeers. The new name is even dafter -East Midlands Airport Nottingham Leicester Derby.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6220118.stmHoddy
Miki
If they simply called it Brian Clough airport, perhaps that be welcomed more ? I am serious by the way.
Hoddy
I think that has been suggested before. The road from Derby to Nottingham is called Brian Clough Way. He's still very much a local hero in both cities.I don't know what Leicester would think of it though.Hoddy
