Bob T Posted January 2, 2007 Share Posted January 2, 2007 I think that the yellow headlights dissapeared so that France could fit in with the rest of Europe. They were no different to white headlights of the time, but gave out about 5% less light. Now all newer cars have Halogen or HID zenon lights which makes them brighter for the driver to see where he is going. I would not like to change my car or the motorbikes back from halogen to the dim yellow or white ones that we used to have years ago. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Pun Posted January 3, 2007 Share Posted January 3, 2007 Hi BOB,See what you mean ref brighter lighting, Ive noticed the traffic lights here in france are not as bright as the u.k. ones, Ive offten been comimg up to traffic lights and find it's not so clear when on red as it could be but again I do think the lower light on traffic lights are a good idea, you dont have to break your neck to see if the lights have go on to green as you can see the changes without moving when your the front vehicle.
