Lyza
Anyone ever done this? It seems to me if you trust a member of the family with the credit card, and their surname is the same, then they can use some of the unused tickets within the year. Any advice?Lyza
cooperlola
Whose? If you are talking the tunnel, then with the new machines, I cannot see how anybody knows exactly who puts the card in the slot! Ferries, I don't know.
suein56
Would this plan be scuppered if these family members were asked to show their passports? Does this happen nowadays? I haven't been through the tunnel for such a long long time I can no longer remember what the procedure is.Sue
cooperlola
Sue the thing is that now there are "self check in" machines at the tunnel where you put the credit card with which you paid into a slot, or enter the booking number. Only the customs bods look at passports now.
Lyza
Yes sorry I did mean the shuttle.I suppose that if the machines break down it might mean that a person looks at the ticket - but I suspect there are so many problems then with delays no one would want to stop the flow of the traffic.Lyza
