MrCanary
For those of you motoring into and out of France via Dieppe and doing so outside normal 'shop opening times', you may be interested to know that the Leclerc filling station in the town accepts UK plastic cards for fuel 24-hours-a-day! My HSBC card allowed me to fill up to a maximum of 68 euros and (on Friday 20/6) diesel was 1.41 euros a litre (about £1.15 at that day's exchange rate). MrCanary
Out of interest, does anybody know if the acceptance of UK plastic cards is becoming universal with Leclerc?
cooperlola
Out of interest, does anybody know if the acceptance of UK plastic cards is becoming universal with Leclerc?
It appears to depend entirely upon the programme for replacing the chip and pin readers and as far as I can work out has no apparent logic (although I suspect it's based on how old the existing ones are). But round here I'd say about 50% of pumps (regardless of retailer) now have the new readers.
