mike.m
Hello, I'm hoping to travel one way on Eurostar Paris-London at the end of September . The price on the official website is 230 euros which seems steep. Any ideas on how to get a better deal . Can I buy a weekend return and just use one half? A one night hotel included offer may be possible . Any agent type websites specialising in this area . Thanks for any suggestions !

I would pay that to get the whole way from London to Narbonne by train return. Are you sure you are not looking at business or leisure class. Eurostar's own site is usually better priced than SNCF for the London bit, as SNCF prices depend on the bulk buying of tickets (and /or their allocation) whereas Eurostar have the full range (or so I was told). Correction: Just re-read yr post, and now see you wanted a single, so yes, that is what it would cost. They do not do as SNCF and (now) other UK rail companies do and offer singles more cheaply. And yes, you CAN buy a return and not use the return half - I've done that at least once, and was told by Eurostar sales staff themselves that was the way they got round it and it was OK to do so. So your weekend return option wasting the return portion may be the cheapest way.
Cjlaws
These two French sites are very useful for one-way Eurostar tickets.http://www.kelbillet.comhttp://www.trocdesprems.com/recherche-billet-train.html
