Chancer
I recently spent some time in the UK and as usual used Speedferries in both directions, whilst I I dont recall noticing anything different on the outbound leg other than higher than usual passenger numbers, on my return (16.00 tuesday) I realised that there were far more cars than usual at this time of year, last year only about 30 per crossing even when the price was £19, but the most drastic difference was seen by studying the number plates, the foreign plates outnumbered the UK ones two to one. This time last year there were relatively few foreign plates and those were mostly Polish and other east european countries with a smaller even spread of French, Belgium, dutch, german etc, on my boat all were French with the exception of one German and one Belgium, most were the northern depatements of 62, 59, 80 and several 75's.Have all these people suddenly discovered the joys of holidaying in the UK in November or were they ex-tunnel commuters?Whatever the reason dont expect any cheap tickets or two for one offers this year although you may get to hear the safety video in French [;-)]
