Getting a lorry across the channel

Anyone ever done this? I havent the faintest idea on prices. Im looking at an artic low loader with payload somewhere between 14 and 20 tons. The truck would be empty france to england, and loaded for the return.

Seems hard to get a rough idea of quotes online. I dont have exact vehicle specs yet, I just wanted a rough idea of prices to judge feasability.

Hundreds? Thousands? I honestly have no idea at all.

Cheap as chips and you get a greasy fry up for free!

The ferries depend on trucks for revenue - prices are not expensive and you can get better prices the more trips you do.

Coaches a few years ago only cost £100 per crossing! The ferry companies want 57 people spending money.

hmmm, never thought of it that way. I assumed that as adding a trailer onto a normal car crossing involves an un-lubed financial rodgering, a single lorry crossing would be very expensive indeed, as 1 vehicle and driver is taking up the space of 4 or 5 cars and families.

I found a few places online, but they need exact lorry specs to quote, and some ask the frequency of the crossings - it would be a one-off, although it might expand in the future, but unlikely more than 2 or 3 a year.
