oldgit72
Hi, I read recently that the tax on inheritance between spouses was to be abolished in France by the new government. Does anyone know if this has been implemented yet? I ask as we are soon to complete on the purchase of a property and had intended going down the Communatae Universale route to avoid succession tax on first death. This may not be necessary if there are no longer tax implications to the surviving spouse. Thanks

SC
Although succession tax between spouses has been removed and other allowances increased, succession law regarding forced heirs remains the same and you will still need to change your regime if you wish only the survivng spouse to inherit the estate.
