Renaud
When driving North towards Caen we leave the Le Mans / Rouen motorway at Sees. The first and last parts were on motorways with a dreary middle section through Falaise, where inevitably caravans cluster. On Monday though we found the motorway has linked-up Sees and Caen - good news indeed for travelers. The only downside was that we had previously found a great countryside walk past Falaise which in past years we used to enjoy with our dog. Leaving Caen towards the port when going over the flyover last Monday we saw the Orne Canal and left our route to find it. It was well worth it as one can walk 14 Kms alongside it as far as the sea. At the end of a five and a half hour drive the couple of Kms we walked was a treat before being cooped-up in the ferry. It even had rabbits to chase. JeanS
We came back on Tuesday - arrived at the Port nearly an hour earlier than usual, so the dog had a nice walk/run opposite McD's. It was dark so couldn't take advantage of the walk along the canal.Don't know what the extra cost will be in tolls until we get our Alis statement.
