Araucaria
My OH is hoping to go off on a trip to India next year, and she needs travel insurance: cancellation, medical, theft etc. The UK on-line travel insurance sites normally ask you to declare you are a permanent resident of the UK. We aren't: we're resident here in France.Does anyone have good experience of getting this kind of insurance from a French insurance company? If so, which (and what was the product called)?Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
val douest
Trailfinders (www.trailfinders.com) offer single or multi-trip travel insurance for people resident in any European country (except Russia). Their premiums are very competitive, everything is in English, and their claims procedure is in our experience (just one claim made) straightforward.Val

sid
We got ours here www.globelink.co.uk for our USA trip. It's for EU residents.
MrCanary
For any retired UK police officers, Narpo now does an annual worldwide policy for two, all pre-existing conditions covered, for £115. Only criteria is you have to be under 85 at time of application!

At Globelink they specialise in providing travel insurance for European Union residents including France.

sid
It didn't cause us any difficulties, we simply gave them a small (thankfully) list of preexisiting conditions and there was a small additional premium. I prefer to be upfront to be on the safe side.I believe this is the case with all insurers, as they try to avoid payouts whenever possible!I'd advise anyone to read the small print on any policy. Patf
I'm planning to go to India in Feb. next year and have already got a visa, booked flights, and got quotes for travel insurance. The application didn't include questions about pre-existing conditions, so thanks for the advice, Allan and Sid, to query this.
