Apparently France is on the UK's 'amberlist'

Is anyone clear about what this implies for someone who returns to the UK after a visit here?

This is an area I know nothing about as I haven't been to the UK for about 10 years but I might have a visitor this year who is confused so I am asking the question here as many of you make the trip frequently

I found this but it seems mainly about travel the other way

Spool about a quarter of the way down for the rules you want.

In essence:

A PCR test in France before you leave (free I think);

Complete a passenger locator form;

Isolate 10 days on return to the U.K., with COMPULSORY PCR tests on days 2 and 8, at around £100 a throw if you shop around.

That adds a hefty sum on top of normal travel costs for those on a modest budget [:(]

It certainly does!

And they would need to pay for a PCR test before setting out from UK for France too, so that's three paid-for PCR tests per person for a return trip.
