Blodwyn
Someone just reported that they were not allowed to board a flight from the UK to Spain because, although their passport had 6 months until the expiry date, it had less than 6 months looking at the issue date..10 years ago, if you renewed your passport early, you were given a bit of extra time on the expiry date. I just checked my old one and I had a month. My new one has the same issue date and expiry date. Worth checking!
anotherbanana
I got this from the UK gov. website, referring to France:Passport validityCheck your passport is valid for travel before you book your trip, and renew your passport if you do not have enough time left on it.Make sure your passport is:valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave France, or any other Schengen countryless than 10 years oldThe 3 months you need when leaving a country must be within 10 years of the passport issue date.If you renewed your current passport before the previous one expired, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. Any extra months on your passport over 10 years may not count towards the minimum 3 months needed.
anotherbanana
I am told that if you are going France UK France and have a CdeS then you are going home and that the six month rule does not apply. So now what? I dunno. Experts needed svp.
