united
As I run or cycle around town I can recognise a number of the the famous French people streets, roads and squares are named after eg De Gaulle, Clemenceau, de Lattre de Tassigny et al. However, I do wonder about the reason why some of the other less well known people have merited a memorial in the form of a street or road. Does anyone know if there is a book or directory giving background to the people. Thanks
Maricopa
Le petit Larousse Illustré is my first port of call for most things French. A absolute must have in my opinion[geek]
Loiseau
What names did you have in mind as less worthy, united? Perhaps we could all join forces to find out who they are?In my experience, some of the less-internationally-known ones are often WWII Resistance heroes.Angela
