Jonzjob
Today we found 11 Ladies autumn tresses orchids in the garden at the end of our house. The autumn is approaching..What a wondeful sight they make. They are so very delicate and unassuming, but when you can see them for what they are they are incredible!!!What a lovely thing to have wild in the garden! They only stand about 8 inches high.
chris pp
You certainly seem to have impressed everyone with those, John, people are either speechless or they have all got them in their gardens. I've never seen them, although I gather they are present in Poitou Charentes.Keep the photos coming, Chris
andyh4
Well I for one was gobsmacked - never seen them before - even in my wild flower books.
Hoddy
What a lovely flower. I've never seen them before either. Is that really frost on one of them ?Hoddy
Jonzjob
No it's not frost. That one was taken on a lovely day last autunm and it seems to be how the flowers are. It does look like frost though. Have a look under the orchid section of your books. That's where we found it in ours. They are a delight aren't they. The top photos are about life size. Our garden is full of orchids in the spring with more bee orchids than I ever saw in England. You have to be carefull where you tread. I will see if I can find some of them and post them.
