Bastet
Does anyone know of anywhere near Melle/St Maixent/Niort which sell bat roosting boxes? I know they're probably not too difficult to make but I don't know one end of a hammer from the other & my OH is too busy. Or a french online supplier? We already have bats somewhere close by (they've moved from behind the shutters, thankfully) and I'd like to help them more.
cooperlola
Stick this on "working with wood" and you never know Chris might make some for you!
Gemini_man
funny you should say that - we have loads of bats and "behind the shutters" is one of their favourite roosting places :)
chris pp
Try getting in touch with these people, http://www.dsne.org/ I know them fairly well and they have a bat specialist who will point you in the right direction.Chris
Bastet
Thanks, will do. Do you happen to know what they're called in French; boîtes des chauves-souris, boîtes aux chauves-souris? There was mention of 'gîtes' on the website; is that the correct term?
chris pp
Not sure, but she (and the others) will understand BATBOX, it's the name of a rather well known bat detector, just be clear that you want the box not the piece of equipment.[;-)]Chris
