Jacqui Too
There might be something in it because the day after is Saint Swithins Day and this is what I found:St. Swithin's Day St. Swithin's Day is 15th July, a day on which people watch the weather for tradition says that what ever the weather is like on St. Swithin's Day, it will continue so for the next forty days. There is a weather-rhyme is well known throughout the British Isles since Elizabethan times.'St Swithin’s Day, if it does rainFull forty days, it will remainSt Swithin’s Day, if it be fairFor forty days, t'will rain no more.'Hope it stops raining , I need to get my hay cut and in the barn[:-))] Jackie
Patf
The phases of the moon have very strong influences on lots of things from gardening, animals' oestrol(?) cycle, tides , mental stability, also weather. Especially the full moons in March/April and Sept/Oct. Don't ask why - I know the theory behind some but not all.
