Dog Posted July 27, 2007 Share Posted July 27, 2007 After all these years finally found a Colarado beetle here in 24.I spent some of my childhood in Lincolnshire and there were wanted posters everywhere for this stripey beetle. So I spent my time looking for them.It was bigger than I'd imagined - we were told they were same size as a ladybird but this one was twice the size.Local bio farmer said his aubergines and potatoes were wiped out by them 2 years ago but he used a 'natural substance' from Africa that got rid of them.Not easy to photograph as quite quick.I got a good close up of a Colouvre verte and jeune the other week. So holidays in France were spent hunting them, intending to smuggle them into the UK in a matchbox. Sadly my parents vetoed this entrepreneurial activity, but I got to see a lot of bugs.
