mooky
In my garden yesterday. Cat showed some interest in it, and it wouldn't fly away, so I put a fly protecter over it whilst cat passed by.It had a little silver ring around its leg. I didn't touch it so couldn't see if it said anything. After cat had gone it fluttered on to the garage.Do they ring Bullfinches around here. 79 ? woolybanana (ex tag)
In 85, next door, they only ring the bullnose finch. I think this is because it is very rare. What exactly did this one look like?
chris pp
A large number of all species of bird are ringed or tagged every year in all EU Countries including France. In France it is carried out under the auspices of the French Natural History Museum in Paris with a large number of organisations taking part, including the ONCFS and ornithological groups. If you go to this page on my site you will find information about what to do if you find a bird that has a tag or a ring.http://planetepassion.com/SERVICES/ringed_or_tagged.htmChris
mooky
It looked like a baby bullfinch to me, but I am no expert, just love wildlife and want to learn more.I noticed it first because of the noise it made. Wah, wah.
