If not, why not?A lake local to our property has been drained and there were HUGE mussels in it, and I mean HUGE like a foot across some.But no French persons collected any, so the local wildlife had a field day. This is because they are filter feeders - OK for a snack if you were in survival situation (and they have been eaten by humans in the past) but better stick to the salt water farmed kind.
