chocccie
I have many oak trees and want to remove some of the lower branches to season for a few years and use as fire wood.Does anybody know when the best time to do this would be? In Wintertime, when the trees are dormant .. or maybe just before Spring is the better time?I'd appreciate any info the wood experts out there can give me.Thanks
Callie
Any time really from end of November to March. Oaks come into leaf in our area in about May. The commune does its cutting of low branches in December or January. We had a load of branches which overhung our plantation lopped at the same time as the commune did theirs (it was cheaper too !)
