chris pp
It's only September Clive and although I haven't got a clue as to where you are they should be fine, plenty of time in most of France before any serious cold weather. Hedgehogs rarely hibernate for any length of time and will wake up in winter on and of whenever the weather is relatively mild.Chris
Suninfrance
If you get English telly - Friday nights on BBC is Autumn Watch. Each week they cover a different topic and last week was hibernation. Check out their website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/autumnwatch/ Unfortunately as we are in France we can't take part in any of their surveys as it's UK only, but the same principles apply to the wildlife we have in common. Here is the link for the programme on hibernation http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/autumnwatch/2009/10/hibernation_and_british_mammal.htmlJan
