Rose
Hello - Can anyone tell me if they recognise a hairy caterpillar that is black with a red spot (I'm guessing on it's head, but didn't get too close to check)I was in the garden yesterday, cutting the grass... we had loads of these scattered around... some in groups and others on their own. They looked like they could have recently 'hatched' around the dandilions but cant be sure on that. They may be quite harmless but as we have cats and children in the garden... and a couple of grown-ups! I thought I would check and see if any of you lovely people can offer advise.many thanksRose [:$]

Rose
Chris thank you - that was indeed the caterpillar... we have lots of them so I'll have to keep a look out for butterflies Many thanksRose [:$]
chris pp
That's great then and, as in 99.5% of cases, nothing to be concerned about, in fact quite the opposite.[:D]Enjoy the butterflies.Chris
