Patf
We've seen a bird similar to this in our garden and think it's some kind of warbler. Possibly a willow warbler. Cute [:)]
sadie
Are you sure that it is not an immature Robin.
misplacedperson
Looking quite willow warbler to me.
Alex H
OK, thanks all - Google images seems to concur with Willow Warbler. My wonderful AA guide to birds of Europe is divided by species, so if you don't know what it is, you have to trawl the whole book! JayJay
I would say it was a garden warbler. Plenty around at the moment.
Suninfrance
I haven't looked myself, but this website may be quite useful. http://www.oiseaux.net/index.en
Framboise
Another suggestion. We have a lot of Black Redstarts here - the youngsters look very much like immature robins until they get their proper uniform of pale grey with a black tail (the males that is). Could be this little chap is one of them possibly?
Fureys
Hi, sorry I'm late!By the olive green legs and the diffuse eye stripe, this is a Chiffchaff. Normally Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler are almost imposible to tell apart other than by their song, but such a good clear photo as this makes identification pretty straightforward.Fureys
