SaligoBay
I have a friend who calls them "shreddies", although that could be condition rather than design.
Russethouse
My husband and his brother both used that term, or 'shreds' for underpants, whatever there design. Also 'Kecks' ???
SaligoBay
Yes, keks as well, Gay.Why is no-one else confessing to close knowledge of men's underpants? Clearly a very unpleasant subject!

Teamedup
So are all these undies y-front type pants, or what? And who would call y-front type pants underpants and the short style, boxers or boxer shorts.
Russethouse
The shorts are boxers, last time I looked, but I think M & S also do pants, too skimpy to need a Y front, called 'slips' (which is actually what both the males here wear)I thought 'underpants' could be any style, but its not my specialised subject !I think Keks or shreds is a generic term for any style that serves the purpose.I have also heard the expression' harvest festivals' too - as in 'all is safely gathered in' ! Miki
I like the one about Harvests, that says it all I guess.Me and me mates (yeh got some of them as well ! I ain't a billy........) call them kecks (mens and womens) and what is says on this pair I am wearing (the things you do for research) is briefs and now I've ricked me flipping neck, having to lean backwards and twisting me neck like twizzle ! Make the next Q a bit simpler please TU
Dick Smith
Skivvies?Julie calls mine knickers, but the sons call them tents...
Russethouse
When I first got married I referred to mens pants as knickers and my husband told me that only women wear knickers, men wear pants etc.'Knickers' are also known as 'granny bashers' or 'Bridget Jones' but they have to be 'big knickers'
Diana
I have always called them nicks, as in knickers be they mens or womens. My mother in law calls them snappers, I have never quite managed to work out why! Diana
Dick Smith
I understand that in some quarters 'chuddies' is a well-understood phrase...

Coral
I would have edited that if I could but the Preview doesn't work with this computer - nor does the control panel.
Iceni
I thought that "keks" was a north of Watford Gap term for trousers.Possibly "shreds" is a corruption of a ? Hindi word "chuddies (sp?)"In E Anglia said garments usually referred to as "pants" which also confuses our colonial cousins in US.Gosh what an exciting subject for an autumn morn.John
Jirac18
Apple catchers, boxers, skuds, skiddies, grundgies, thudders, Poo catchers, the rest I know are too bed to air in the post. I guess I spent too long in rugby clubs over the past 20 years
