Patf
I'm trying to buy a clock on ebay.fr and the one I like is described "cadran cartouches bleu, caisse chene." I thought cartouches were cartridges. There are roman numerals in blue. So can someone translate cartouches please? Pat.
chris pp
In this sense the word means that each number is contained in its own small enamel plaque which is attached to the dial proper, the background colour of the plaque is normally white with the numbers either in black or blue, very occasionally in red.Chris
