I came across this phrase on another current discussion thread here but I don't want to change the original discussion subject by asking a linguistic question there. Frenchie Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 Normally when we say " je cause la france " it means I can speak french, but it s a funny way to say it, which alludes to the fact that you speak very informal french, not necessarily very upstandard..When someone makes a mistake ( a french person, not a foreigner) we say " oh tu causes bien la france toi!!" which means '" you ve made a mistake" , it s not mean, just funny.
