DerekJ
On Monday we are meeting with the vendor of our proposed purchase and the geometre to formally define the land boundaries prior to us signing the CdeV.We understand from the agent that the maire will also be in attendance. As we want to get off to a good start with the maire, can you confirm that correct way of initially addressing him (I understand the maire is a man) would be"Monsieur le Maire"? I'd just like to be sure about this and that this wouldn't be either wrong or too formal? Thanks
Val_2
Monsieur Le Maire or Madame Le Maire is correct here.

Benjamin
You could always do what most of us here do. If it's a bloke you just call him mate and if it's a bird you call her love. Works every time for me. [6]
