Sweetpea
HISince 2001 I had a registered business here and my Carte Vitale was provided by Mutuelle de l'Est, who specialise in folk with small businesses.Since my business is now no more, Mutuelle de l'Est have said their cover will stop after 30 Sept. What do I do now?Hubby still has his CVitale with the same people; can I 'ride on his back'?Or must I go to CPAM??HELP!!! giantpanda
Hi!Unfortunately the name you gave " Mutuelle de l'Est " gives no search result.Have'nt they made recommendations??Why don't you ask the Chambre du Commerce? There are certainly other possibilities.Yours, giantpanda
Clair
Is it this one: http://lamutu8b.alias.domicile.fr/qui_sommes_nous/qui_sommes_nous.php?Have you asked if you could subscribe to their "individuals" cover http://lamutu8b.alias.domicile.fr/particuliers/espace_particuliers.php? Sweetpea
Hi Clair Yes - it is this one, but with my rather limited French, I can only see that it offers 'complementaire' which I already have with AGF.I need a new Carte Vitale! I'm not sure how we ended up with Mut Est in the first place; probably responded to one of their 'publicités' 8 years ago.
Clair
Sorry, my mistake. I misunderstood your post and thought you were after a mutuelle (top-up) cover.I am not familiar with self-employment cover, but you might get an answer here (google-translated page here). sunshine 2
Sweetpea - if you husband has cover because he is running a small business then it should be possible for you to get cover as his dependant. Just get him to ask about it.If not then write to FHI and we will tell you about the experiences of 2 people who have had to negotiate with CPAM for entry to CMU after cover expired after closing thier businesses down. In theory you should not have a problem in joining CMU because you have lived here legally, ie with health cover, for more than 5 years. Of course, if CPAM think you can get cover through your husband then they will turn you away anyway as CMU is only for people who have no other way of obtaining health cover.
