What is this disease?

it is apparently a disease of the lungs, caused by bird poo- whioch therefore affects people (men?) who keep racing pigeons!

and parrots, it's real name is Psittacosis.  There is also hypersensitivity pneumonitis, also known as bird fanciers lung, bird breeders lung, Farmer's lung or parrot fever.  This is contracted from organic dust and/or feather particles such as that found in hay or associated with bird keeping.

Joking apart neither are something you would want to contract although for the latter a healthy person could quite easily confuse this as a bad dose of chesty flu.
