Translation please...

Hi. I would like to write a letter with the phrase 'if you need an extra pair of hands please ring me'. Can anybody help? Many thanks.

I dont really know how to express the extra pair of hands.

I would not bother to try such a literal translation.  It is only likely to be misunderstood and may even lead to a totally flase understanding of the statement.

 

I would simply say if you think I can help give me a ring.

"Un coup de main" is correct.

You can also say "Si vous avez besoin de renfort, vous pouvez m'appeler".

Isn't sonnez-moi a bit Anita Bell? Especially when you are not even tutoyering.

Mind you I chanced my arm with the phrase once and came up trumps [:D]

Sonnnez-moi is employed by the French speaking Belgian people (that's how us French can tell them apart.....) it's therefore "faites-moi savoir".

French speaking Belgian also use different words ie. for "torchons" they say "essuis".......
