Pads
I know how to change the ending of a regular and irregular verb but when looking at a verb on its own how do you know when its irregular or regular ..or is it just one of the things you have to remember like fem and masc ??Thankyou
Clair
There is a rule and there are exceptions to it (as you'd expect!)It does require some familiarity with the language.Verbs ending in "er", like manger, bouger, donner, aimer = 1st group (except aller, bundled in the 3rd group)Verbs ending in "ir" where the participle present form is in - "issant", like finir (finissant), agir (agissant), rougir (rougissant) = 2nd groupAll others, like mourir, aller, pouvoir, courir, entendre = 3rd group
