Anton Redman II
In passing offering by sending a cheques for say £ 800 for an invoice for £ 1,000 about which there is a dispute and relying on cashing the cheque as exceptance of the offer failed to work about 30 years ago in the UK and I suspect does not work under French or European law. I cannot remember chapter and verse but was when I still read the law reports in the FT everyday.
dragonrouge
An offer of a cheque in full and final settlement means nothing more (at least in the UK) as an offer to pay something against an outstanding invoice or bill. It it an offer simply that and does not have to be accepted.Anton is spot on
