mint
Thank you, Eric.It was the "y" that, as always, confuses me!I look at this one tiny little word which amounts to just the one syllable and I am never completely sure where I put it!It's even worse than that other little troublesome word "en". Loiseau
Sweets, long ago, when I was at school, we used to have to chant in unison:"Me, te, se, nous, vous, before le, la, les, before lui, leur, before y,before en"to make sure we got them in the right order. I still do it (under my breath)!Angela
mint
Angela, I remember your writing that out for me here on the Forum and it's copied into my diary [:D]It's just that with the Passé Composé, I wasn't at all sure where I put "y" in the example which I provided and which Christine solved for me so promptly.I am finding French (as I do English also) endlessly fascinating and I now go to 2 classes every week. Frecossais
Unlike you Angela, I didn't learn the order of words when at school, although I'v heard of the list.Like Sweet, I've now written it down and stuck it in my dictionary. Thank you. What is it they say? Every little helps!
