Russethouse
I seem to remember Bernard Loiseau (the chef who committed suicide after losing two Michelin points ) being mentioned here before.Yesterday the Independent reviewed a new book about the chef' The Perfect life and death of haute cuisine' by Rudolph Chelminski. He certainly seems to have been an interesting character and the book gets a very good write up.

letrangere
Gay, shame on me but I'd never heard of this chap until you mentioned him. However, I see this morning that he's actually alive and well and posting in the Finance section of the forum!Margaret
Russethouse
I seem to remember he was mentioned when he committed suicide, but I didn't know his name until I read the review in the Independent. He wasn't in danger of losing a star, but he did lose two 'points' possibly to do with salt in the sauce !!! Apparently he was inconsolable.(I'm 'hooked' on the cryptic crossword in the Independent now, so it looks like we will be getting the paper more often )
