cherrytree
Is there an equivalent of the National Trust or English Heritage inFrance?
Loiseau
According to my very anglophile French friends, not. Now back in France, they sigh for the National Trust. There's "Monuments Historiques" that might be a bit like English Heritage I suppose; though it's not something you can belong to and then have free admission to all sites like you can with EH.Otherwise it's down to individual owners, or sometimes to the Conseil General, to do up a place and open it to the public.Angela
