Mr Coeur de Lion
Hi,Our friends have just had a newborn baby. We are visiting them in hospital today and I'm really not too sure what is the correct etiquette. Do we take the baby's present to the hospital or do we wait until the baby returns home? I'm just not too sure if gift giving in hospital is appropriate in France.Anyone with any experiences would be greatly appreciated.Lynda
nimportequoi
I've just had a baby here and my friends (French) who visited me in hospital brought presents with them.
Mr Coeur de Lion
Thank you so much for that. We did take your advice and bought a present for the new baby. Couldn't believe that apart from the Grandfather, we were and will be their only visitors!! Was very impressed by the maternity hospital in Chateauroux. All private rooms with balcony. Epidurals for all births! Why didn't I have my children in France?Again, thank you!Lynda
TWINKLE
I had my daughter in a clinic here in France and it was like being in a luxury hotel. I'd still be there now 8 years later if they hadn't booted me out after a whole week[:-))]I cried like a baby that day[:)]
