Christine Animal
Dalida, the very popular singer from Egypt died twenty years ago after committing suicide. Her friend and neighbour Bertrand Delanoë, Maire de Paris, is at the origin of the present exhibition in her memory, which is a great success.(Exposition salle Saint-Jean, Mairie de Paris, du 11 mai au 8 septembre, 10H00-19H00, du lundi au samedi, entrée gratuite).http://cf.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/070510/arts/ville_paris_musique_vari__t__s Whenever we used to walk past Dalida's house in Montmartre, I used to feel sad seeing the plaque on the wall.http://zooptv.vidiac.com/video/A659F82C-CF04-4CAA-BB83-984D00B6AA3E.htm Thierry Le Luron, one of my most favourite French people, sadly no longer with us either, used to love to imitate Dalida, here they are togetherhttp://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=580877&fr=yfp-t-472 A very beautiful woman, before coming to France Dalida was Miss Egypt 1954http://www.metacafe.com/watch/491374/dalida_helwa_ya_balady_egypt/
TWINKLE
My 8 year old daughter couldn't get to sleep the other night so I invited her downstairs with me to watch the documentary about Dalida with me. She was instantly bewitched by her. She think she's the bees knees now. The woman had the most incredible career and such an unfufilled personal life - I too find her fascinating. My favourite Dalida song is "Je veut mourir sur scène". Evidement[;-)]
