TWINKLE
It's a beautiful film! We watched the 'making of' documentary of it the other day on Canal and really enjoyed that too.

Chris Head
I was at the cinema with youngest yesterday and saw the trailer for it...asked if he wanted to go and see it he said "It's too girly...no action"!
TWINKLE
When casting for the part of the child - the director originally wanted a boy for the role as it was loosely based on his own childhood.
Christine Animal
Yes, he said he met a fox once when he was a little boy, but preferred a little girl and a woman's voice for the film. It is a sort of fairy tale. I watched the making of last night on that Canal link and one member of the set said that little eleven year old girl was not used to filming, but despite the snow and different conditions he never heard her complain or say anything once. What a lovely little face, all those freckles, what a lovely smile, she is perfect in the role. She looks as if she has been to ballet classes (just my impression), so maybe the discipline.I bet she will grow up to be another Isabelle Huppert or similar.
