velcorin
Anyone ever been there when someone is awarded this? Without being too brutal about it, is it a big deal? Will I get away with a bog standard business suit and tie? How long does it take. It's a family member (wife's side), but I can't take much time away from desk on that day. When I try to discuss it in the office, they just start winding me up, so no joy there, and no joy with SWMBO (You're going FULLSTOP). Help!!!!!!!! Sunday Driver
The Ordre Nationale du Merité is the French equivalent of the MBE and is issued for distinguished civil and military achivements.Business suit and tie will be fine.
Loiseau
Are there not different levels, as Britain's KBE, CBE,OBE, MBE?I think the top one is the Grand'Croix de l'Ordre National du Merite. then perhaps:Grand OfficierCommandeurOfficierChevalierBut whatever, I am sure business suit would fill the bill, as SD says.Angela
