mary
I have just been asked to be a Godmother to a French friends son, which I have to say, I have been very touched by and feel we have now been more than 'just' accepted by our french friends. Does anyone know what is traditional to give as a gift to your godson. In the Uk I have previoulsy bought my godchildren a Childrens Bible or a St Christopher or a Braclet for the girls, but is this is what is also done in France. Are these acceptiable gifts, do you give money..... My godson will be 14 soon, so a Childrens Bible might not be the right thing.Any guidance in the right direction and what is acceptiable please as I dont want to ask them incase of embarasing them. woolybanana
Is he going to be confirmed? If so, there are traditional presents, though I shunned those for my kids in Belgium.
mary
His mother said Baptisim, but that may be her english translation. He is going to Llords (SP) with his Catholic school the week before so perhaps confirmed??
woolybanana
Well, what is modern for young cathos I don't know, but there are shops which sell traditional stuff, I believe, often good booksellers.
