idun
I did not know where to post this, but I was asked tonight if french grooms had wedding rings and did married french men usually wear wedding rings. I had to laugh and say I didn't know as I held my own hands up as I haven't worn rings on my fingers for a long time. I just do not know. I cannot ever remember noticing either. Anyone more observant than me? Or simply just know[:)]
Loiseau
I am sure that all married Frenchmen of my acquaintance wear wedding rings.Angela
AlexiaOliveira
Some use, some not. It is not mandatory I guess. Most of french people that I know are PACSe, not married, these ones don't use.
Val_2
Most french men I know wear rings and are properly married. My husband never had one because they are too dangerous in his line of work as they tend to catch on machines and materials too easily as our old friend found out and nearly had his finger severed as my Dad too refused because he worked with his hands. I do however, notice that many many married french women never wear a ring or those that do, not a proper gold or platinum band but something more like an engagement ring or a celtic band here in Bretagne. I have to say I don't like rings much, you don't feel a wedding band after 30 years so that is no problem but my engagement ring hardly ever comes out as I find it annoying now.
