NormanH
Are you talking about the Daniel Auteuil remake of Pagnol? Looking at the trailer I found some of the accents a bit jarring rather like BBC West country 'Mummerset'I mentioned some of the earlier Pagnol adaptations in this thread:http://services.completefrance.com/forums/completefrance/cs/forums/1/1764030/ShowPost.aspx#1764030and of course there was also Marius et Jeanette. Cendrillon
Yes Norman, I have to agree that the accents were lacking or perhaps overdone in places however I loved the sets. I am looking forward to seeing Fanny on Sunday.César I believe is due to appear later , possibly next year.
Pickles
Ah, I had overlooked the Auteil version ... I was thinking that you were referring to the black-and-white version, which IIRC was basically a film of the theatre play, with what looked like (and probably was) a theatre set. The accents were thick though. If I didn't have the book to go off, I would have been stumped.
Cendrillon
We saw "Fanny" last night which was equally as enjoyable as the first. I hope the third film in the trilogy will appear before too long.Daniel Auteuil's accent was not consistent neither was it particularly brilliant but apart from that I think both films are well done and definitely worth seeing.
