Richard-R
We are planning on making a bread pudding but have been unable to find it in Carrefour. Has any one spotted it else where? or know the individual ingredients and percentage's so we could make it ourselvesRichard (Aude)
Teamedup
You could try and find a Comptoir Irlandaise, or get a friend to send some. What would the french use this in, I have never tasted anything that is spiced with this mix here. No wonder that they don't sell it, is it.And you could do the following. Instead of using mixed spice, put thick layers of lemon curd on the bread instead. If you can't buy that it is really easy to make. And Lemon Curd Bread and Butter Pudding, especially eaten hot, is a delice. Has anyone seen this recipe, I sort of think I have made it up.....it is very good though.Incidentally I always put dried fruit in a bread and butter pudding, but not in my lemon one. LesLauriers
I bought, in Auchan probably, 'Quatre Epices moulues' by Ducros which I use in my recipes where mixed spice is called for, such as fruit cake. The jar lists the ingredients as cannelle, gingembre, girofle and muscade and can be used for sweet and savoury dishes.
