calories

going on from fat labelling , only the other day I commented tho mr opas that food isnt labelled here as in the UK with calories, salt,sugars etc.
I am not a food label junkie but do look to avoid E numbers , look for low fat,low salt etc. just trying to find theses on crisp, drinks ,yogurt and biscuits and on some brands is just not there.
I thought in the UK this was law, is it not so here, even a packet of butter does not have any calorific values

It's not law to include nutritional details on food - it is purely voluntary information provided by food manufacturers. However if you do provide the information it must be accurate, in a designated format and regularly tested.

In the UK you are unlikely to find a pre-prepared that doesn't have nutritional info as the retailers want to provide customers with all of the information they would ever need!
