Andrewjspencer
Anyone any ideas?Planning a grand old cassoulet for dinner on Saturday and wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a good wine to accompany. Rouge obviously.... Pinot Noir? Cotes du Rhone Villages? Been drinking so much Rose all summer brain/memory is failing me!!

BruceR
I agree you ned something with oomph and not to subtle. A rough vin de table would do me, J P Chenet is probably too sophisticated for this dish lol.
Hegs
Cassoulet is from round my way. A good Malpere red is the usual choice, or failing that a Corbieres or Carbardes won't go wrong. I'm drooling even thinking about it!
Andrewjspencer
thanks to you all for your contributions.Being in dear old Angleterre choice was limited but did manage to track down a good robust Cahors. The Cassoulet was bloody marvellous and the Cahors too!!! Not a wine we have drunk before but now one we will again!Off now to prep a light salad...... still not hungry nearly 24 hours apres Cassoulet!!
