Slow cooker...again

Refering to an earlier thread about slow cookers...

I have found a slow cooker (mijoteuse) at Géant Aurillac (15) for just under €20...

It has a slow setting, a fast setting and an auto setting (starts on fast then goes to slow); it has a glass lid and a proper crockpot.

The UK webpage is http://www.teamuki.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Slow_Cookers_8.html

and it's the 3.5l one in s/steel which retails in the UK at £20 + VAT...

A bargain then!

seen in Darty Brive (19) yesterday: Kenwood slow cooker, 6.5l (=11.4 pt) priced at just under €50

Looks exactly the same (but larger) as the one described above...

I hated my slow cooker and would not give one space in any kitchen of mine. I was sure that I wanted an electric steamer and bought one last week, and I don't think I like it. I have some gadgets and gizmos I would not be without, but others really do not do it for me.

ps does anyone know if I can cook a jam roly poly or spotted dick in my electric steamer, it could well redeem itself if I can.
My slow cooker looks like yours and its a Tefal I think, might be a little larger though. Have you used it yet ? I make soups, pot roasts, cook fruit (plums, apricots eyc) and yesterday even used it to cook beetroot. I love my slow cooker [Y]
Hi Russethouse

I've been trying to post this reply since this morning, but the servers are having none of it!

I have found this Canadian website, full of "crockpot" recipes:
