Just Katie
Elderflowers are in abundance at the moment and a friend of mine told me how wonderful elderflower champagne is. I wonder if anybody could tell me whether this is alcoholic or not.
Dick Smith
Mildly so, apparently (and therefore quite unlike my grandfather's elderflower whine, or worse, potato whiskey aka Poteen).http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A593363(The whine bit was a mistake, but I left it as it seemed appropriate. After a bottle of Rosé de Provence)
hastobe
As Dick says - mildy so. My great grandmother made lethal stuff - there is a notorious family story of an explosion in the cellar courtesy of her elderflower champagne! Sadly she died before I was born so I don't have her recipe - but I do have a.n.other recipe..Oops - just clicked Dick's link and dicovered it was for a recipe...[Www]Kathie
Dick Smith
Watch it. It can be deadly in the wrong (ie C Stacpole-Ryding's) hands...Got a right kicking from my grandmother for getting me bladdered at the age of 8. Never been the same since!
