Harley Posted September 3, 2006 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Not a French recipe but if you have a glut of Tomatoes, Onions, Green Peppers and Apples:Spiced Tomato Relish1lb Tomatoes1 Green Pepper1lb Onions1lb Apples12oz White Sugar1 ChilliHalf Pint White Distilled Vinegar1tblsp Paprika1tsp Cayenne Pepper1tblsp English MustardHalf tsp Mixed Spice1tblsp Salt6oz Tomatoe PureeIncrease quanitities as preferred.MethodDip Tomatoes in boiling water for 1 minute, remove skins, chop up.Remove pips from pepper and chilli. Cut up pepper, chilli, onions and apples.Put these in pan with vinegar and simmer until tender and thick, about 30 minutesAdd all other ingredientsBoil for approx 3minutes - I don't find this too hot - don't like stuff that takes out the back of your throat!!!Put in JarsEat and enjoy.Lovely used in soups, sauces, curries etc. Or cold with cold meats.[:-))] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
